The new Thunderbolt by Mercury Marine

Mercury Marine presents Thunderbolt, the latest propellers line for Volvo Penta Duoprop. From today on the owners of Volvo Penta DPS can navigate their ships with a Quicksilver prop. The Quicksilver props are produced by Mercury Propellers Investments Casting - Foundry in Fond du Lac (Wis).

During the tests, the Quicksilver Thunderbolt surpassed the Volvo F6 propeller increasing its top speed by 5% and reducing the acceleration time. The best performances are guaranteed by a coupling of a frontal 4-blade prop and a posterior 3-blade prop. The Quicksilver Thunderbolt propeller is available on all Volvo type F Duoprops engines. As Dirk Bjornstad, brand manager of Mercury Propellers, said these are 'The 4 frontal blades that make the difference. Thanks to this system, we created a frontal 4-blade prop for better performances and acceleration. All the pleasure-boat owners will appreciate the better performances provided.' Quicksilver Thundebolt is available with a pitch from 19 to 28. The Thunderbolt range is composed of 7 pitches that will help customers to find the right prop for their boats. All the metals used by Mercury are highly resistant to impingements and corrosion.
