CANTIERE NAVALE DELL'ARGENTARIO

A very warm welcome to the historical and prestigious Cantiere Navale dell'Argentario, icon of the italian sailing business, with unique tradition and experience. The Cantiere Navale dell'Argentario provides services to any kind of boat up to 40 meters lenght, it can also offer high quality implants, advanced instruments and a staff specializing in woodworking, naval carpentry, mechanical and engineering workshop, painting and fiberglass manufacturing. Founded after the World War II, it started its business by reconstructing fishing fleets, then it specialised in pleasure boats maintenance thanks to the highly skilled workforce and a slipway trolley up to 400 meters of displacement. It was already able to host important dimensions ships in the strategic position of Porto Santo Stefano. The shipyard owns 2 cranes, 2 sheds, 1 dock and an outdoor space. There are 5 majority shareholders: Carlo Terramoccia, Piero Landini, Umberto Berti, Stefano Busonero, Federico Nardi. All of the 25 staff member count on a 20-years experience achieved working for this Company. The Cantiere Navale dell'Argentario is the author of the best boat restorations of all times such as the Dorade, built in 1927 and restorated in 1997 and the Stormy Weather, built in 1935 and restorated in 2001. In 2003, thanks to the restoration of Bona Fide, built in 1899, the Company won the first prize for 'best boat classic restoration' at the 'L'Albo d'Oro'. Again in 2003, the Shipyard ends the restoration of Cholita, built in 1937, in 2002 Sonny, built in 1935, Tamara IX built in 1933 and restored in 2000, Vim built in 1939 and restored in 2004, Amorita built in 1937 and restored in 2007, Aria built in 1935 and restored in 1999 and Nyala built in 1938 and restored in 1996. It is worth to underline the thorough and meticulous research to find the original drawings, the information, the details and the necessary materials needed for a successful restoration, used with the same building techniques of the time. At the Cantiere Navale dell'Argentario, where  you feel the magic of time gone, the Shipwrights pass their knowledge from generation to generation. They have the burden and honor of making these antique ships sail again and bring to a second birth famous regatta boats such as Linnet, restored in 1998, built in 1905 for the members of the New York Yacht Club, that started the famous America's Cup. Classic boats restored up to their original glory through the combination of studying, research, engineering, skilled labor, and, first of all, passion.
